Message from the President
Dear Campus Community,
I want to take a moment to address the news about the Louisiana Board of Regents’ recommendation that the ÀϾÅÆ·²è transition from the University of Louisiana System to the LSU System. While this proposal now moves to the Legislature for consideration, I want to reassure you that our primary focus remains on you—our students, faculty and staff.
ÀϾÅÆ·²è has faced financial challenges, and we have been working diligently to stabilize our operations, strengthen enrollment and ensure the long-term success of our university. This recommendation does not change our day-to-day work or our commitment to providing a high-quality education and research environment.
I know you may have questions about what this means for ÀϾÅÆ·²è’s future. At this stage, there are still many details to be determined. What I can promise you is transparency: We will keep you informed at every step of this process, and we will advocate for what is best for our university community.
I encourage you to share your thoughts, ask questions and stay engaged. There will be opportunities in the coming weeks to discuss this recommendation and what it could mean for ÀϾÅÆ·²è. In the meantime, please continue your outstanding work as students, educators and researchers. Our university has a proud history and—together—we will shape its future.
Thank you for your dedication to ÀϾÅÆ·²è.
With ÀϾÅÆ·²è Pride,
Kathy Johnson, Ph.D.
President
